Sevington school is run by a committee whose prime concern is to
offer a visit of quality linked to the National Curriculum.
The Sevington School
Project is a registered charity with no guaranteed income.
Currently the project receives no regular financial support
from other agencies.
Occasional grants and sponsorship have helped but cannot be relied
on. Hence the project has to financially survive on a day to day basis.
The committee has signed a 21-year repairing lease.
Responsibilities of the project lease include care of the premises, heating, lighting, insurance, telephone and safety requirements.
Despite the fact that we are non-profit making we still have to function
as a business. Money has to be kept in reserve for emergencies, dealing
with wear and tear and building repairs. We invest regularly in improved
resources for the benefit of all our customers.
The bulk of our income to pay for this is from booking and
membership fees.
Support of the ‘emporium’ also helps to keep down charges.
